Worcester , Mass. On Tuesday June 13, 2006, Crescent Innovations'
business plan was awarded First Place at the WPI Venture Forum's
Business Plan Contest. Crescent Innovations will receive $15,000 in prize money and "in kind" services as part of this prize.
"It means a lot to my company and I to win this contest," said Al Prescott, President of Crescent Innovations. "WPI is my alma mater and we have been a Worcester based company since our founding. We owe a lot to WPI and the business community here."
Crescent Innovations competed with over 40 other companies. Last night, Crescent presented its business plan, along with two other finalists. After a lengthy debate, Crescent Innovations was declared the winner.
"This prize will be very helpful in continuing to execute our plan," noted Prescott. "We will use the money and services to strengthen our patent portfolio, which will in turn put us into a better position to negotiate strategic partnerships, and commercialize our technologies."
